Bindra Kachhipati Pradhan is a veteran and versatile interior designer in Nepal. She has extensive experience in the interior design sectors for about two and half decades. She has wide knowledge in the interior designing field. Also, has been practicing design and project management of small retails projects to many corporate, government, multi -national sectors large scale designs. She is involved as Principal Designer and Director in Keen Enterprises P Ltd and has been involved in interior design, consultancy, project management and construction. Ms Kachhipati holds a position of the President in Interior Designers Association of Nepal (IDEA Nepal), a national level umbrella organization of Nepalese interior designers.

 

She is engaged on training / teaching and writing articles related to design. She has recently established a firm “Creates Management” with an objective for skill development and entrepreneurship through training and advisory services.

Chandra Prasad Humagain is an owner and managing director at Interior Point Pvt. Ltd. With his hard work, dedication, sense of selfless service and high-spirited team, he has made a big difference in the field of interior design in Nepal. The jury noted the enormous energy and spatial evocativeness, achieved through extraordinarily simple means. The natural landscape, conformation of the terrain, surrounding city, classrooms and student activities, production and economic conditions are all subsumed in the project as basic elements and are expertly and sensitively interpreted through superb quality architecture (…) designed for a real city and real needs, with elegance and without arrogance.

He was honoured by significant awards including the Borromini Prize for Architecture in 2001, for the Altamira School project on the outskirts of Santiago de Chile (1997).

Prof. Jiba Raj Pokharel is a retired Professor of the Institute of Engineering. He is the Immediate Past Vice Chancellor and Academician of Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. He is also a former Dean of the Institute of Engineering and President of Nepal Engineers Association. Dr. Pokharel is also the immediate Past President of Center of Democratic Engineers.

An architect by Profession, Dr. Pokharel is the designer of Maya Devi temple in Lumbini. At the present, he looks after Kantipur Engineering College and Everest World School in the capacity of Principal. He is the writer of books such as Architecure, Oh !Architecture, written in Shakespearean Sonnets, Sikchhak Sisya Sambad, written in classical meters, Patan Ko Krishna Mandir, written in folk style.

Prof. Pokharel has developed technologies for disaster risk reduction such as fire resistant thatch roofing, landslide prevention technology and Earthquake damping technologies to name a few. He has also written a Disaster epic entitled Maina Bulbul written in folk Nepali style.

Dr. Pokharel's articles appear regularly in the Himalayan Times and Annapurna Post.

Dr. Pokharel has specialized on Architecture Conservation from the University of York, UK. He was in a national committee formed by the Government about the conservation of Hari Bhawan. At the present, he is in a committee to look after the conservation of Jaya Bageswori temple in Pashupati premises.

She started her own interior design firm, Vogue Interiors in 2000.  She is the first interior designer in the Eastern Region of Nepal. With her strong determination and hard work, she has however, established herself as a successful Women Entrepreneur in Eastern Region now!

Ar. Pratiksha Shrestha began her architectural and interior design practice in 2006, after graduating from Pulchowk Campus, IOE, Nepal. Currently, she is MD in Green Design Associates Pvt. Ltd founded in 2010. The company specializes in residential, commercial, retail and hospitality projects. In both of her architecture and interior design, she prioritizes comfort first, closely followed by beauty but always with an eye on practicality. Her interior design works convey broad range of styles, eclectic yet sophisticated and elegant.

Shyam Badan Shrestha is the bodacious image in the product design field. At present she is the chairperson of Nepal Knotcraft pvt.ltd and the proprietor of Nepal knotcraft center. She is considered as the greatest and the most famous versatile figure of Nepal. She was also the president of Natural Resource Development Center and Women’s Entrepreneurs Association of Nepal .

 

She was honored by many national awards like “Best Woman Entrepreneur" - Gold medal and cash prize from Yuba Kriyakalap Samiti of SSNCC, Nepal, Best Cottage Industry Award - a shield and cash prize from Cottage Industries Development Board, Kathmandu, and    "Best of Show" Gold Medal at Nepali Women's Arts and Crafts Exhibitions organized by GAA, Kathmandu she was also honored by SAARC Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2018, Country Winner –Nepal and World Crafts Council WCC, Award of Excellence for Handicrafts, South Asia sub-region.

She sets a remarkable example for the women empowerment and local people by inspiring and encouraging them to work by using local products and available materials in Nepal.
